Description

Description

Wood-pressed from sun-dried coconut copra at room temperature — no heat, no chemicals, no refining. Keeps its natural aroma, golden clarity, and naturally high saturated-fat composition intact. Small-batch milled, FSSAI-certified. Ships in 24 hours.

How It’s Made

Our copra is sun-dried and cold-pressed using a traditional wooden chekku (mara chekku). The press rotates slowly, generating friction but no external heat, so oil separates from the copra at close to room temperature. It is filtered once through cloth and bottled without bleaching, deodorising, or chemical treatment. This differs from RBD (Refined, Bleached, Deodorised) coconut oil, which is processed at high heat with solvents to strip out the natural flavour, colour, and aroma in exchange for a neutral, longer-shelf-life product.

Composition

Coconut oil is naturally around 92% saturated fat, made up mostly of medium-chain fatty acids including lauric acid. Because this oil is unrefined, those fats and the natural aroma compounds are retained rather than processed out. It solidifies below approximately 24°C (76°F) and turns liquid above that point — a natural property of coconut oil’s fat profile, not a sign of quality in either state.

Aroma, Taste & Texture

Fresh, mildly sweet coconut aroma with a light, natural coconut flavour — noticeably different from the near-flavourless taste of refined coconut oil. Colour ranges from clear to pale golden depending on temperature; texture is solid below 24°C and clear liquid above it.

Smoke Point

Approximately 175°C (347°F) for unrefined, cold-pressed coconut oil. That’s well suited to sautéing, tempering, and moderate-heat stovetop cooking. For very high-heat deep frying, a refined oil with a higher smoke point performs better — we’d rather tell you that upfront than oversell this oil’s high-heat range.

Culinary & Traditional Uses

Works well for tempering, sautéing vegetables, and South Indian preparations such as thoran, chutneys, and payasam, where its coconut flavour is part of the dish. Outside the kitchen, it’s commonly used in traditional oil-massage routines and as a base for home hair and skin care — as part of long-standing household practice, not as treatment for any condition.

CRO Elements

  • Add trust badges (Wood-Pressed, No Chemicals, No Refining, Ships in 24 Hours) directly under the product title — currently the “Why Families Trust Us” badges appear but are generic; make process-specific claims more prominent.
  • Show star rating + review count near the title (348 reviews exist but no visible star average in the current layout).
  • Add a “₹49 per 100ml” price callout next to the price — concrete price-per-unit is a stronger trust signal than “premium quality” language.
  • Add a collapsible “Why does this cost more than refined coconut oil?” section covering wood-pressing time, lower extraction yield, small-batch production, and no chemical refining.
  • Show delivery charge/timeframe on the page itself, not only at checkout.
  • Fix the default-variant issue: no size is pre-selected on load, so first-time visitors from search see no price until they pick a size — pre-select the most popular size (likely 500 ml or 1 L) by default.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes cold pressed coconut oil different from regular coconut oil?

Regular refined coconut oil is typically RBD (refined, bleached, deodorised) using heat and chemical solvents. Cold pressed coconut oil is extracted at room temperature without those steps, so it keeps its natural aroma, colour, and fatty-acid composition intact.
